What's a Zinger, and how does it work?

NAZ Kids Incentive Program

At NazKids we want to teach kids life-changing truths found in God's Word. We also want to teach kids self-discipline and encourage group participation. One of the tools we are developing to help with this is the NazKids Incentive Program-a.k.a. "Zingers."

WHAT ARE ZINGERS?
Zingers are the currency at NazKids. They can be earned each weekend, and spent at the Zinger Store which will be open periodically throughout the year. Each week, Zingers will be awarded at Sunday School, in the following manner:

  • 1 for attending Sunday School
  • 1 for reciting the Bible Verse from memory
  • 1 for bringing their Bible to class
  • 2 for bringing a first-time guest to Sunday School
  • 2 for being a first-time guest in Sunday School

Zingers may also be awarded at the discretion of the NazKids Staff for outstanding behavior.

When is the ZINGER STORE Open?
The Zinger Store is open about every 3 months, during the Sunday School hour (Sunday 9:45am). We will advertise the date for 2-3 Sundays in advance. Please help us make this a great experience for you kids by devising a system that will work for your family to help your children remember to bring their Zingers on the correct Sunday.

HELPFUL HINTS
The biggest heartache when it comes to Zingers is the inevitable "I lost my Zingers." When kids earn their Zingers, it is their responsibility to keep track of them. We encourage kids to put the Zingers in their pockets or in their Bible. Zingers lying on the floor will just get picked up. At home, kids may want to designate a special place to store their Zingers, like pinning them to a bulletin board, or putting them in an envelope labeled with their name stuck to the refrigerator. Others will choose to just leave them under the bed and hope to find them all on Zinger Day. Whatever works for you! Have fun.

This is a flexible program, and may change slightly as time goes by. But this should give everyone a basic understanding of how things should work, and why we do it.
