Missions & Compassion Ministries
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8
We Believe: "...that Jesus commanded His disciples to have a special relationship to the poor of the world; that Christ's Church ought, first, to keep itself simple and free from an emphasis on wealth and extravagance and, second, to give itself to the care, feeding, clothing, and shelter of the poor.... We further believe that the Christian responsibility to the poor is an essential aspect of the life of every believer who seeks a faith that works through love." -ncm.org 2006
What We Do
THAILAND -- An ongoing assistance of ministries through the Church of the Nazarene in Northern Thailand includes the support of ABBA House (an orphanage for young women who have escaped from forced prostitution and enslavement through a Christian School and vocational training program -an extention of the Church of the Nazarene). (http://abbahousefoundation.org/abba/).
NMI (Nazarene Missions International)-- In 2006, with your pledges we gave over $57,000 to Nazarene World Missions which helps fund missionaries, hospitals, orphanages, Bible schools, Christian broadcasting, and church buildings worldwide.

"You will be My witnesses in Visalia..."
This year, many from our congregation served at the Visalia Rescue Mission and provided Christmas gifts to over 100 children through Golden State Adoptions. We gave monthly financial support to YoungLife of Tulare County, Visalia Rescue Mission, Tulare County "Good News" Prisom Ministry, Travis and Christa - North Africa, Lahu Church of the Nazarene, North Thailand and Mentor Moms. We are also a member of Willow Creek Association and a jock church.
"In Tulare County and California"
Several of our congregation provide devotionals & encouragement to inmates, NazCar restores and donates cars to families in need and our Naz Food Pantry provides meals for over 100 families. Our church has become home to many of these families.
"...and to the ends of the earth"
In 2005 our congregation pledged a love gift and purchased 30 acres of land in northern Thailand near the border of Laos.
In January 2006 a joint team from the Lahu and English congregations traveled to northern Thailand to build a church/community center on the 30 acres that had been purchased. The team spent a week laying brick walls for the first structure there.
Thailand
In 2008, we will be taking a Work, Medical and Youth Team to continue the mission in the villages.
China
This past year we had a few members of our family serve in China!
Jen taught English in Henan and Katie and Derek travelled throughout the mainland!
Africa
With the Nazarene District, Sandy and Janae Enns and Jonna and Molly Schengel served in South Africa working in rural villages where HIV/AIDS is rampant. Rachel Moore served in East Africa doing various projects and another couple served in West Africa and are hoping to return full-time later this year!
Recently, Breanna Ribiero spent a few weeks with LoveWorks Missions through PLNU sharing her heart and Christ with children in the Congo and Rwanda.
