About Naz Kids
We want you to know that Visalia Nazarene is a church that has your child in mind. It is our goal to offer exciting ministry programs for children ages one day through sixth grade.
Our weekend children's worship and Wednesday activities run at the same time as the adult services and studies. This allows you, as a parent, to enjoy your service knowing that your child is having a wonderful time in a worship service of their own.
Our children’s ministry is built around 5 core values, described like this:
NAZ kids strives to be a:
- SAFE place where kids learn
- BIBLE-BASED teaching that is
- RELEVANT to their lives, presented in
- CREATIVE and
- AGE-APPROPRIATE ways.
Mark 10: 13 & 14 says,
"One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children." "

Children's Church VS. Sunday School?
One day I was complimenting my daughter's outfit. "Wow, that's a pretty dress!" To which she replied, "Daddy. This is a skirt, not a dress." What do I know? I don't speak fashion. So I can imagine how people feel when I'm talking about having both Children's Church and Sunday School, and they're staring at me blankly, thinking "What's the difference?"
Sunday School is taught in smaller groups, and takes place in a room with chairs and tables, workbooks, pencils and crayons, crafts & snacks. This is perfect for the child who will be with us for 2 services because their grown-ups will be attending Sunday School and the Worship Service. Sunday School is only offered during the 9:45 service. Kids meet in Room 17, but will move to another room for their class. They will return to room 17 by 10:55.
Children's Church (AKA NazKids / NazKids Jr.) is taught in a larger group. We meet in a large kid-centered room, with no chairs or tables. We do large variety of activities like: Singing, Bible Memorization Games, Creative Presentation of the Bible Message, Review Games, and Small Group Discussion. This is perfect for any child whether they've never been to church before, or whether they've been in church since they were born. NazKids is offered in all three morning services in Rooms 17 & 18
